QUIZ - Grade 4 Immersion

Bonjour,

Please note that there will be a quiz on Wednesday, October 18th for students in my
Grade 4 Immersion class.

The children should have all review notes that cover verbs (être et avoir), numbers 1-30, family members, days of the week, months of the year and seasons.

Please encourage your child to review this material.

Thank you,
Mme Christine

L'automne est arrivé!! Fall is here!

Bonjour!

I hope you are all getting used to the cooler weather. I know I am!

The children have settled nicely in their routines and we are having fun together. The classroom is no longer a portable but a chalet that will get cozier by the day as we decorate it with the children's work and art!

In the last week or so, all my students have received a red or orange duo-tang entitled
"Je me pratique" (I am practising...)  This folder will contain songs, prayers, poems etc. and can be left at home. It is meant to help your child feel more comfortable in speaking French by helping him or her practise reading and singing in French. For example, I will be providing the words for the song "L'automne est arrivé" that you can access through the link on the right of the blog. You might even learn a bit of French yourself!

Have fun!

Sincerely,
Mme Christine

Bonjour!

Bienvenue / Welcome "Chez Mme. Christine"!

Bonjour!

My name is Mme Christine Laroche and I am thrilled to be teaching the Grade 3 and 4 Extended French programs as well as the Grade 4 Immersion program this year at St.Gabriel!

I have had the pleasure of meeting many of you and your children last year in Grade 3 or even when I was teaching at the Kindergarten level some years ago. I am enjoying getting to know all of your children and I look forward to meeting you all at our upcoming open house!

This year I will be working to help your children strengthen their understanding and use of the French language. To do so we will focus on building their vocabulary and using French in a variety of situations and contexts. Music and games will most definitely be involved!  Please look to the right of the blog to find links to songs we have been working with so far. At the bottom of this blog (in the brown section) you will also find mainstream French songs that the children can listen to and even sing along with.

Our year is off to a great start.  Youppi!!!
